DescriptionOn May 17, 1904, the Rev. William H. Lewis, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church in Bridgeport, Connecticut , and father of Edward Gardner Lewis, laid the corner stone for the Stone Memorial Chapel that was being built just northwest of the Woman's Magazine Building in University Heights #1. The Rt. Rev. Daniel S. Tuttle, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri gave the address. Only the foundation was completed before the work was abandoned. This photograph appeared in the June 1904 issue of the "Woman's Magazine."
