Description	When Edward Gardner Lewis announced the opening of the People's United States Bank, subscribers of "The Woman's Magazine" and "The Woman's Farm Journal" sent money for him to deposit. And they sent it wrapped in every conceivable way, including wrapped in newspapers and tied with suspenders. This photograph appeared in several publications, including "The Siege of University City" by Sidney Morse, published in 1912.
