Zolnay created a lion and a tiger, although the tiger is always referred to as a female lion. In this photograph, Zolnay posed with the model for the male lion. The sculpture in the background is another piece by Zolnay. | Source | Photograph, tear from lower right to middle right, spots on surface, tear upper right, surface damage in corners, 7.88" by 5.91" | Subject | University City (Mo.)--Pictorial Works | Subject | Zolnay, George Julian, 1863- | Subject | Lion Gates (University City, Mo.) | Subject.Keyword | Sculpture | Title | Model of Zolnay's lion for Lion Gates, 1909 - View 2 |
