DescriptionIn 1909, Edward Gardner Lewis hired George Julian Zolnay to design sculptures for the entry gates to University Heights. Zolnay created a lion and a tiger, although the tiger is always referred to as a female lion. In this photograph, Zolnay posed with the model for the male lion. The sculpture in the background is another piece by Zolnay.
