This photograph shows one of the two great dining tents. The bottle on the table is a Heinz catsup bottle and the sign on the post announces hours for employee meals. The tent was decorated with ivy and the sides could be raised or lowered depending on the weather. This photograph appeared in "A Trip to Camp Lewis, A City of Tents," a promotional brochure published by Lewis Publishing Company. | Source | Photograph, damage lower edge, tear top edge, surface uneven, 9.10" by 7.11" | Subject | University City (Mo.)--Pictorial Works | Subject | Camp Lewis (University City, Mo.) | Title | Camp Lewis dining tent, 1904 |
