DescriptionThis Shingle style house at 6955 Amherst Avenue was one of a group of houses on Amherst Avenue built on speculation by the University Heights Realty and Development Company between 1906 and 1907. Some of these houses were sold immediately, but others were rented for the first few years. The first resident of 6955 Amherst was Elmer Fromm, who was associated with the Rice Stix Dry Goods Company.
