Description | The Art Academy Building was designed in the Classical Revival style by St. Louis architects Eames and Young for the People's University of the American Woman's League. Construction began in the spring of 1909, and artists were in residence by winter, even though some construction work remained to be done. It was completed in late May of 1910. This photograph of the northeast corner of the building was probably taken in 1911. |
