Description	This photograph shows University City's Police Department about 1909. John Willman (seated) was the first City Marshall. James Walsh (left) would join the University City Fire Department, serve as Fire Chief from 1919 to 1931 and head of the Public Safety Department from 1931 to 1933. M. H. Jones is standing in the center. George Ward (right) would be elected City Marshall in 1921 and serve until 1947.
