Description | This photograph was taken looking east toward the Woman's Magazine Building and toward the Italian Renaissance Revival mansion, stables and carriage house that belonged to Jackson Johnson. The house stood at the corner of Delmar Boulevard and Pennsylvania Avenue (now Big Bend Boulevard). Johnson was one of University City's first aldermen. Washington Avenue, which had just recently been laid out, curved south around the Johnson property. |
