DescriptionThe St. Louis Star, a daily newspaper, was purchased by the Lewis Publishing Company in the fall of 1908. The newspaper occupied a building at 12th and Olive Streets in downtown St. Louis. This photograph, taken looking north on 12th Street, shows the St. Louis Star building, and just beyond it, the Hotel Jefferson. Typical of the times, street traffic includes horses and wagons, street cars and automobiles.
