Description | When Edward Gardner Lewis' People's United States Bank was closed in 1905, architect Herbert C. Chivers' plans for the intended building were adapted for use as the publishing plant for Lewis' newspaper venture, "The Woman's National Daily." This photograph, taken from the top floor of the Woman's Magazine Building across the street, shows the plank-paved road leading to the construction entrance. What appear to be roof trusses are on the ground in front of the building. Curbs are being installed along Trinity Avenue, west of the building. |
