Description | This photograph of Edward Gardner Lewis at his desk in the President's Office in the Woman's National Daily Building was signed by him, "Yours, EG Lewis." This room was located on the upper level of the front pylon. The room was decorated by artist Ralph Chesley Ott in the same striking Egyptian motif as the rest of the building. This room was a very difficult one to photograph. It was lighted from above by a large stained glass skylight which caused photographs to be either under exposed at the bottom or over exposed at the top. This photograph appeared in "The Woman's National Weekly" on December 23, 1911, along with Lewis' Christmas message to his readers. |
