DescriptionThe American Woman's League Chapter in Compton, California qualified for this Class II arts and crafts style Chapter House built for them by the League on a lot donated by Mr. Ruefner. The League also provided a set of mission style furniture and carpets, as well as a state of the art phonograph. The League's lending library of phonograph records circulated by mail among the Chapters. Above the fireplace is a plaque of the League symbol, "Woman's Mission" designed by sculptor George Julian Zolnay.
